What's My Line?

McQueen and Daly
Hosted by John Daly, What's My Line? was a gameshow in which 4 panelists tried to guess the occupation of a guest contestant. Each panel member asked questions, and the guest would answer either with a "yes" or "no." Each episode would have a special mystery guest, and the contestants would be blindfolded as they asked him or her questions.
Who Am I?
Steve McQueen appeared in episode 841 of the long running show in Game 3 as the Mystery Guest.
Steve did an excellent voice impersonation, but the panelists were onto him fairly quickly. Possibly because his new film The Sand Pebbles was only days away from release, and because of the audience excitement at his appearance.
The Panel Meets the Star
After he was identified, Steve told some entertaining stories about his experiences in making The Sand Pebbles, then shook hands with the panelists, who seemed genuinely delighted to meet him.
The entire episode can be viewed at Crispin Garcia's The Sand Pebbles pages.
