Steve appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show as a special guest in 1958 on an episode devoted to CBS's stars of the upcoming season.

Steve was representing his TV series Wanted: Dead or Alive

He reappeared in 1966 to promote his then latest film The Sand Pebbles.

Sullivan introduced him by saying, "Now, tonight in our audience is Mr Steve McQueen. Steve, would you please take a bow". And Steve took a bow.

Steve & Ed take a spin
Steve & Ed in the Solar BuggyIn October 1968 Steve appeared on show the to promote his companies (Solar Engineering) new products. Solar produced off road vehicles, equipment, and cycle kits.

He entertained viewers by doing "wheelies" on a cycle, and then took Ed for a spin in a Solar buggy.

He also promoted his new Solar safety seat for off road vehicles, which was being successfully sold to people in the racing industry.
